The School of Creative Learning in Danapur, Patna, recently hosted ‘Innofest 2026’, a spectacular two-day science and innovation festival. Held on September 18th and 19th, the event successfully celebrated young minds, new ideas, and creative innovations through engaging exhibitions and robotics competitions.
Day 1: A Spark of Genius and an ‘Electric Cake’
The festival kicked off with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries, including APCL President Vijoy Prakash, Principal Dr. Mridula Prakash, and former Vice-Chancellor of D.Y. Patil International University, Prof. Prabhat Ranjan. A major highlight of the inaugural day was the celebration of APCL President Vijoy Prakash’s 70th birthday. To mark the occasion, Grade 10 students from the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) showcased their technical skills by designing a unique ‘Electric Cake’.
Promoting a culture of continuous innovation, Mr. Prakash gifted an ‘Idea Diary’ to every student and teacher, emphasizing that every great invention begins as a small idea and should be jotted down immediately. The day was further enriched by cultural performances, including an educational puppet show and a dance themed ‘Save Tree, Save Earth’.
Day 2: Robo Games and Animatronic Marvels
The second day transformed the campus into an interactive learning space filled with automated models and live robotics projects. Students brilliantly bridged mythology and modern science with a captivating automated ‘Makhan Chori’ model, featuring Mother Yashoda chasing baby Krishna. The exhibition also thrilled visitors with moving animatronic creations, including a walking Black Panther, a Dinosaur, and a Peacock.
The excitement peaked during the tech-based competitions organized under the school’s ATL:
Robo Fight and Hurdle Race: The duo of Aman and Suryaansh from Grade 9 secured first place with their technical dexterity.
Plane Race: Grade 2 students Satyam and Anvi Prakash jointly took second place, while Shivam and Reyansh secured third.
Boat Race: Aditya from Grade 8 won first place, followed by Raunak in second and Reyansh in third.
The event even drew international praise, with visiting guests from Singapore—Himadri Mayank, Shruti Kumari, Vyome Vihaan, and Aadriti Asmi—touring the stalls and commending the students’ outstanding efforts.
Embracing ‘Learning by Doing’
At its core, Innofest 2026 was a testament to the philosophy of ‘learning by doing’. APCL President Vijoy Prakash emphasized the unique joy of racing a car built with one’s own hands, noting that these creations also serve as valuable teaching and play materials. Principal Dr. Mridula Prakash highlighted that such events strengthen students’ confidence in expressing their scientific thoughts. By moving science from textbooks directly into the hands of children, the School of Creative Learning continues to foster problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and the resilience to learn from both success and failure.
