School of Creative Learning inaugurated a vibrant two-day Literary Festival, “Sahityotsav” on 11th September 2026. The first day of this grand event was beautifully dedicated to celebrating Hindi and Sanskrit language and literature.
The Guiding Philosophy
A key theme of the festival was the practical application of literary wisdom in our everyday lives.
Shri Vijoy Prakash, Chairman APCL, lit the ceremonial lamp alongside other dignitaries and shared a powerful message:
“Literature is not merely a subject to be studied… It shapes and refines who we are. Literature must be lived, not just read.” – Shri Vijoy Prakash, Chairman, APCL
He emphasized that bringing literature into our daily conduct is the true meaning of education.
He also noted that the greatest need of our time is to absorb the higher ideals of literature and put them into practice.
The Guest of Honour, Shri Mihir Ranjan, former Commissioner of Customs, offered practical ways to promote Sanskrit and urged that the language be nurtured both at home and at school.
Spectacular Student Performances
The school auditorium was filled with an array of magnificent performances as students of all ages showcased their talents:
- The festival opened with a traditional welcome aarti and a lamp-lighting ceremony.
- The student presentations kicked off with a rousing ‘Sanskrit Jayghosh’ performed by Class 5 students.
- This was beautifully followed by a prayer led by Misty of Class 1.
- Students of Class 6 took the stage to recite the ‘Madhurashtakam’.
- The youngest performers captivated the audience: Ananya of UKG presented a poem and a story, while Satakshi Sinha of LKG recited a poem.
- Himanshi of LKG charmed the crowd with her lovely recitation of Kabir’s couplets.
- Musical talents were on full display as Ragini of Class 1 sang the song ‘Krishna Dahi Rakshak’.
- Shreya of Class 3 recited the moral couplets of Rahim.
- Dance performances added a dynamic visual element, including a classical dance by Class 9 and a group dance by Classes 3 and 4.
- Older students delved into literary history with a ‘Kavi Parichay’ (Introduction to Poets) segment presented by Classes 6 and 8.
- A major highlight of the day was the ‘Kavi Sammelan’ (poets’ meet) staged by the students of Class 8.
Connecting with Linguistic Heritage
In the closing session, Dr. Mridula Prakash, Principal SCL, commended the efforts of the language teachers. She observed that festivals like Sahityotsav help build a natural affection for language and connect children to their rich linguistic heritage. The day successfully wrapped up with an impressive exhibition of language and literature-based models and projects created by the students, which earned warm appreciation from the guests.
