Equality Begins in Childhood
What children learn in their early years becomes the foundation of their thinking and values throughout life. If parents raise their sons and daughters with equal opportunities, affection, and freedom, the walls of discrimination in society will begin to crumble naturally.
Dr Mridula Prakash, Principal of the School of Creative Learning and Secretary of the Mahila Charkha Samiti, emphasized that the feeling of gender discrimination can only be eliminated if children are educated about equality from an early age.
She said –
“Parents must teach their sons from childhood that their sisters are a reflection of themselves, there is no difference between them.”
Change Begins at Home
Dr Prakash further explained that we often talk about living in a patriarchal society where men dominate many aspects of life. However, the situation is now changing rapidly, women are moving forward, breaking barriers, and shaping society in every sphere.
Today, mothers are becoming more aware and open-minded, which is why daughters are growing stronger, more confident, and empowered.
The Creative Learning Perspective
At the School of Creative Learning, we believe that the lessons of equality, empathy, and respect are not taught merely through textbooks, they are learned through the environment at home and in school.
When teachers and parents themselves practice fairness and compassion, children grow into individuals who value and uphold equality in every form.
The seeds of equality sown in childhood will one day blossom into a just, sensitive, and progressive society.
